What are the responsibilities and job description for the Thermal Engineering Intern position at Exowatt?

The Thermal Engineering Intern will assist in the design, analysis, testing, and optimization of high-temperature thermal storage and heat transfer components for Exowatt’s thermal energy storage systems.
- Support thermal modeling and simulations for heat exchangers and storage systems.
- Assist in testing and data collection on thermal performance.
- Evaluate and improve material selection for high-temperature applications.
- Work with engineers to develop scalable solutions for thermal energy storage.
- Pursuing a degree (BS, MS, or PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
- Experience with thermal simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with thermal testing and data analysis is a plus.
