EXP is currently searching for a GIS Analyst for our Mid Atlantic Sector based in West Virginia. 

 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Coordinate the acquisition of spatial data and integrate these data into well-organized GIS formats. 
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures on a vast array of datatypes, including reviewing data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform spatial analyses and creates information products from GIS and related software.
  • Produce presentation quality maps using cartographic design standards for public, client, and internal usage.
  • Catalog and inventory GIS data, including metadata creation.
  • Develop and edit large and complex GIS databases.
  • Perform data conversion between GIS and CAD data formats for use within a given software.
  • Maintains a high attention to detail on concurrent tasks, while meeting challenging deadlines.
  • Uses GIS techniques to provide a better understanding of certain variables in a given geographic location.   
  • Create and manage data to support 3D visualization.
  • Develop and maintain ArcGIS Online and StoryMaps to express planning concepts and alternatives.
  • Develop custom web applications using Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS and the ArcGIS API for JavaScript.
  • Acquire and design field collection applications using ArcGIS Field Maps and similar software platforms. 
  • Explain the values of GIS technology and processes to non-technical audiences.

 

 What your experience looks like

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited program in GIS, geography, planning, computer science, engineering, geology, or related field.  An associate’s degree or GIS certification may also be acceptable if the work experience is commensurate with this position. 
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience with demonstrated GIS responsibilities. Additional experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Esri’s GIS mapping software, particularly ArcGIS Desktop with Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst extensions, Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Field Maps, and Survey123 for ArcGIS. Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Experience Builder is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of various relational database management systems (RDBMS).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D with the ability to perform basic editing tasks.
  • Experience working in the engineering and/or planning consulting fields is preferred.
  • Geographic information System Planning (GISP) Certificate is a plus. 

 

 

The pay range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
