Your work environment at EXP
EXP is currently searching for an Inspector for our Savannah GA area projects.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Responsible for performing assignments in assisting Senior Inspector in the performance of their duties.
- Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress.
- Inspection and testing of soils, concrete, steel and masonry materials for road and bridge projects. Experience with GDOT construction and specifications desired.
- Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Observing general job safety practices.
- Monitoring and inspecting the Work Zone Traffic Control in accordance with contract documents.
- The ability to work as a team a plus. Possibility of weekend and evening work as dictated by contract.
What your experience looks like
- Graduation from a university with a degree in civil engineering or from a four year college with a degree in civil engineering technology; graduation from a five year technical college with a degree in civil engineering technology and six years of progressive transportation technician experience; or graduation from high school and eight years of progressive transportation technician experience as an employee or consultant for State Highway Agency; or an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience.
- Passing scores on GDOT’s Construction Engineering Inspection Training tests – Group 1 (General Provisions, Auxiliary Items, Basic Highway Math, Basic Highway Plan Reading).
- Passing scores on GDOT’s Construction Engineering Inspection Training tests – Group 2 (Pavements, Bases, Subbases, Minor Drainage Structures, Construction Erosion Control).
- GDOT WECS.
- GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification.
- GSWCC Level 1a (Erosion Control).
- NECIT Level III Certification or ASCE Equivalent
