Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Energy Management OR
Preferred: Doctoral degree - from accredited university - Juris Doctorate
Experience
Minimum: 2 - 5 years related work experience

Job Summary
This intermediate level professional position is responsible for attaining and managing the company's mineral and leasehold interests for an assigned geographical area to develop, operate and maintain the company’s leasehold, property rights, and oil and gas wells.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Verify the ownership of the property where the company seeks to explore for and develop oil and gas
- Acquire oil and gas leases and mineral rights by contacting mineral and leasehold owners to negotiate the purchase of oil and gas leases, assignments of oil and gas leases or minerals to allow the company the legal right to explore for, drill, and produce oil and gas and other constituent elements.
- Assemble the necessary government permits and approvals as required by law to execute a plan of oil and gas exploration
- Investigate and report the company's ownership position, competitor activity, potential legal issues, or other matters through various channels to top management to aid decision making and strategic planning
- Review and interpret oil and gas leases and communicates necessary action to maintain company owned leasehold
- Maintain outside operated wells where the company has interest by researching and determining the company's interest, also includes advising the team of a new proposals made by outside parties
- Coordinate and communicates with field lease brokers for the acquisition of oil and gas leases, lease title take offs, and abstract work
- Order, review, interpret and cure title for the purposes of drilling, producing and operating oil and gas wells including the formation of units
- Compile and update land maps that display pertinent land information pertaining to prospects within the assigned area of responsibility to convey current land positions to management
- Coordinate and communicates with representatives from internal departments such as geology, engineering, and operations to ensure that the appropriate steps are taken to meet the company drilling goals and deadlines
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Intermediate knowledge of land management principles including negotiations, contracts, leasing and multi- well drilling rig coordination
- Intermediate knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders and agency rules
- Intermediate knowledge of oil, gas and mineral laws in various states and affiliated oil and gas leases, deeds, and title curative documents
- Intermediate negotiation tactics and techniques
- Knowledge of oil and gas vocabulary as well as be able to read and understand legal descriptions for a tract of land
- Ability to manage information with accuracy and critical attention to detail
- Intermediate knowledge of acquisitions and divestiture principles and methodologies and corporate strategy
