Overview
The Electrical Estimator provides electrical and instrumentation estimating services for industrial, commercial, and oilfield electrical construction. The Electrical Estimator provides support for planning, organizing, and evaluating construction projects per schedule, specifications and budget. Must be able to take initiative, set priorities, and efficiently produce detailed end results.
Responsibilities
- Prepare bid proposals for industrial, commercial construction projects
- Interpret customer RFQs for projects and E&C applications
- Control all requests for proposals from companies
- Attend bid walks and job showings
- Generate project values and develop durational schedules
- Finalize and submit complete package proposals
- Handoff project budgets and schedules upon award
- Use current pricing agreements to develop unit price and T&M estimates
- Receive field data to compile estimates and set AFE’s for projects currently under contract
- Select components and materials for quotation and pursue supplier pricing and delivery times
- Submit estimates to companies
- Track estimates and WIP’s to develop historic data to be archived for future use
- Conduct cost analysis throughout all phases of a project, up to and including completion
- Maintain and control distribution of all project documents and records
Qualifications
- Preferred experience using CONEST estimating software
- 3 years or more of Estimator experience
- Electrical experience in industrial and commercial electrical construction
- Use of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to effectively and regularly converse and comprehend in English
- Able to commute to and from our Houston, TX location
