What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Mechanic position at Expanse Electrical Company, LLC?
Responsibilities
- Must have abilities to diagnose defects on service trucks, skid steers, trenchers, and trailers.
- An understanding of troubleshooting and repairs for diesel and gasoline powered engines
- Understanding of preventive maintenance practices and procedures
- Inspect diesel-powered units, hydraulic systems, injection valves and systems.
- Inspects hydraulic and cable operated attachments on equipment.
- Communicates any unsafe conditions or accidents in a timely manner.
- Improve operations, streamline work process, work cooperatively to provide seamless customer’s service.
- Diagnose defects in heavy equipment.
- Physical ability to work in all the elements of outdoor conditions and operate company vehicles when necessary.
- Physical ability required to lift and carrying equipment, some with weights up to 80-100 lbs.
- Responsible for keeping a maintenance log of all site equipment and performing DOT inspections along with maintaining DOT records.
- Position requires the following physical activities:

Qualifications
- Proficient with MS Word & Excel and basic computer skills.
- Willing to travel (Day Trips)
- Valid Driver’s license
- Knowledge of the ability to adhere to Company policies and work requirements.
- Willing to submit to pre-employment, random and for-cause drug testing.
- Knowledge skills and abilities for position
- Ability to effectively and regularly converse and comprehend in English.
