What are the responsibilities and job description for the QC QA Technician position at Expanse Electrical?
Requirements:
- Champion the Quality Management System (QMS) using the principles of quality management.
- Continually improve Quality Management Plan (QMP).
- Promote a LEAN culture throughout the shop.
- Know the eight wastes and work to reduce and or eliminate the wastes within the constructs of the Panel Shop’s business strategy.
- Lead 3S endeavors in quality area and participate in 3S throughout the shop.
- Develop a quality program that provides daily feedback to the production employees.
- Gather data to ascertain losses due to rework.
- Maintain and brief the quality slide(s) in the morning brief as well as conduct short lessons as required.
- Share the responsibility of maintaining and briefing the cost slide(s) in the morning brief with the Panel Shop Manager, providing feedback as appropriate.
- Lead quality special projects as required.
- Update job records as job status changes.
- Notify appropriate customers and management of panel completions weekly via email and other appropriate venues as required.
- Lead and develop quality technicians.
- Inspect panels, reviewing blueprints and specifications to compare with produced goods.
- As part of the QMS, develop and maintain a procedure for continual feedback to the engineering team on print red-lines, fostering continuous improvement
- Assign and delegate to quality technicians according to strategic vision.
- Train, develop and appropriately document work methods for a competent quality team and production technicians.
- Develop and implement a training program for production employees based on quality metrics obtained to foster continuous improvement in the Panel Shop, improving product excellence.
Qualifications:
- Proficient/Advanced knowledge of VFDs, PLCs, and other relevant electronic devices
- Graduate of a technical school with emphasis in electrical work or associate degree required.
- Able to read and comprehend electrical schematics.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical theory and shop standards.
- Be able to use tools such as pliers, knives, hacksaws, wire strippers and other small tools.
- Willing to submit to pre-employment, random and for-cause drug testing.
- Ability to effectively and regularly converse and comprehend in English.
- Solid work ethic.
- Ability to effectively communicate with management, co-workers, customers, and vendors.
- Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain professionalism among co-workers and customers.
- Must be dependable, trustworthy; and possess a positive and productive attitude.
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes extended hours.
