- This role will operate under flexible hours. An example of flexible hours would be 11 AM – 7 PM PST Monday – Wednesday, and expected hours Thursdays and Fridays, roughly 9 AM – 5 PM PST

The EG Employee Communications & Engagement Team maximizes the reach and impact of global communications, to earn trust, and generate EG brand loyalty by creating clear messages about business priorities, inspiring action to support business performance, and driving employee engagement in our culture and values.
We're looking for a communications star to join our Field Communications team within the Employee Communications division for a year-long maternity leave coverage role. The Field Communications team champions local storytelling and engagement across the globe, so wherever they work, Expedians feel connected, proud and energized by opportunities at EG. This is a temporary 14-month assignment .
Responsibilities of the Communications Manager :
Implement the Global Field Comms communications strategy within the APAC region – Pride, Connection and Stability.Manage the regional execution of global plans, ensuring plans are tailored for localised success and relevancy for the APAC region.Execute storytelling strategy, highlighting APAC wins, employee spotlights and more.Create compelling content to communicate key messages, initiatives, and updates relevant for APAC employees.Effectively research, write and edit stories that showcase individuals and teams who are demonstrating how local wins are contributing to our global success.Drive proactive, creative and innovative leader engagement to support APAC office sites based on Field Comms tactical responses to local site needs.Collaborate and maintain relationships with cross-functional partners and global EG comms team to amplify APAC storytelling, and ensure consistency of message.Support roll out of global employee comms projects within APAC region.Serve as strategic advisor on local fit, and be the decision-maker on how global tactics are localized.Partner with global communications colleagues to localize global campaigns and initiatives for APAC audiences, taking into account cultural nuances and preferences.Represent APAC needs and employee sentiments in broader conversations with partners, global employee comms, and leaders to result in appropriate messaging, experiences and more.Support Crisis Management Team within APAC. Follow best practices as defined by global lead and global crisis lead. Advise local team and messenger on channel strategy for crisis and issues responses. Develop and maintain relationships with the regional lead of key partner teams as their trusted communications advisor to drive communications objectives forward. This includes Real Estate, People Team, TLT, Site Leaders, and EAs.Advise partners on best practice communications tactics to support subject matter projects, site needs and objectives, and employee needs.Advise on site engagement strategy in hub locations in APAC.Monitor and measure the effectiveness of your initiatives within APAC, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement within region and globally.Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in employee communications, continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and enhance communication strategies.Qualifications of the Communications Manager :
A minimum of 5 years employee / internal comms experience in a corporate or agency environment working in content creation, storytelling, project management, and engagement.Some experience in a dynamic, global organization is a plus.Willing to work flexible hours based on the need to maintain a connection with both an APAC-based partner network and a global employee comms team.Collaborative, inclusive thinker who thrives on building strong partnerships that drive impact.Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with the ability to represent our business and principles at the highest levels, including with our executive stakeholders.Break the mold content creator, with a passion for storytelling that highlights local employees and how they contribute to our global business.Able to master the execution of day-to-day tasks through logical, clear, strategic thinking and simplification.Passion for building processes and structure to solve problems, manage projects and influence stakeholders.Excels at managing multiple projects and maintaining high standards while meeting deadlines.Eager to learn about and advocate for cultural differences through inclusive communications strategies.Please note contractors are engaged to provide services to Expedia Group on a temporary basis in connection with a specific assignment.
