What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position at Expedian Urgent Care?
Expedian Urgent Care is seeking a Full Time Energetic, Compassionate, and Experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner who enjoys variety in their day; Someone passionate about health education and embodies the concept of wellness.
Physicians and staff work very closely together to integrate all aspects of medicine and preventative care and provide the highest quality of medical services to their patients.
Hours: Full-Time- various locations
The shifts will be 8 to 11 hours, depending on needs, and providers will be required to work rotating weekends. You will be required to float to different locations.
Expedian Urgent Care is open M-F 9 am to 8 pm, Sat and Sunday 9-5. Closed on Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, & New Year’s Day.
Anticipating schedule shifts: 3 various days a week Plus every other weekend rotation Required for full time employees.
Services Offered: General Family Practice, Allergies & rashes, evaluation of most chest pain, headaches & migraines, on-site x-rays, skin infections & abscesses, bronchitis & pneumonia, fevers – down to 3 months of age, influenza, sore throat & strep, Covid-19, evaluation of acute abdominal pain, gastrointestinal infections with nausea & vomiting, sinus infections, urinary tract infections, eye injuries, lacerations & cuts of all sizes, foreign body removal, sprains & strains, fractures, etc.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Diagnosing, treating, and helping patients manage acute and chronic illnesses. Ordering and performing diagnostic tests and procedures and prescribing age-specific medications.
Determines patient and family needs during the initial assessment.
Follows treatment protocols as established by the Physician.
Consults with a physician when needed regarding the treatment plan.
Recognizes and identifies life-threatening situations, responding with immediate action according to protocol.
Assures that adequate patient records are maintained and reviewed by the supervising physician.
Utilizes referral services when needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 2 or more years experience of Urgent Care, Family Care, or Emergency Room medicine as a Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant is required.
- DOT Certification is required for this position. (Certification can be obtained during the hiring process)
Current State License & National Board Certification
- BLS & ACLS
- DEA
- Ability to read and interpret x-rays
- Experience with all age groups
- Excellent Customer Service Skill
