Job Description
Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant
Reporting directly to the Director of Rehab, this compassionate, licensed and technically savvy individual delivers the best possible service by providing coordinated physical therapy to patients of all age groups under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.
Position Functions
- Administers the physical therapy treatment plan as developed by the Physical Therapist
- Utilize evidence-based pathways to optimize care
- Administers non-complex active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction, heat, light, cold, water and electrical modalities to patients
- Applies concepts of infections control and universal precautions in performing patient care activities
- Accepts clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients
- Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills
- Meets mandatory continuing education requirements
- Promotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third party payors, through education, coaching, and other assistance as necessary
- Demonstrates commitment, professional growth and competency
Qualifications

- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to use discretion concerning sensitive information and adhere to HIPAA.
- Caring and compassionate attitude
- Ability to work on own initiative within clearly defined parameters.
- Ability to carry out designated tasks including reporting outcome of actions taken.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy with Associates Degree in Physical Therapy and appropriate licenses and certifications (LPTA)
- 2 years of experience in home health care industry preferred
- Knowledge and experience of relevant software applications for communicating with field staff
- Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and other English language skills
