**Ops Specialist - Security Master File**
We are looking for an Ops Specialist to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of descriptive security information for all assets held by our firm. This role involves setting up and maintaining our internal clients' security master files on systems such as GoldenSource, Custody SMF, and Eagle/STAR. The specialist will leverage various data vendors, financial publications, and other resources to gather necessary security details.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Set up security master files accurately and promptly for both internal and external clients.
- Verify and amend established security master files in GoldenSource, Custody SMF, and Eagle/STAR.
- Manage daily workload effectively.
- Validate market identifiers for setup on the Security Master File and research critical security data across vendors.
- Continuously update and maintain the SMF databases, ensuring all information is accurate.
- Confirm that the GoldenSource, Custody SMF, and Eagle/STAR databases align with vendor information.
- Review pending requests and process those not automatically routed.
- Complete quality control tasks and requests efficiently.
- Stay current on new and existing workflow procedures.
- Research and resolve conflicting information from multiple data vendors.
- Serve as a liaison for internal clients regarding security information inquiries and issues.
- Escalate problematic items as necessary.
**Qualifications:**
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in PC applications.
- Strong problem identification, escalation, and resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Effective time management and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
- Motivated and proactive, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure team environment.
- Experience with vendors/depositories such as Bloomberg, IDC, DTC, and Euroclear is a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office is advantageous.
- Availability to work on some US holidays may be required.
**Contract Details:**
- Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension.
- Hybrid Schedule: At least 2 days in the office, with a potential increase to 3 days in the future.
- Pay Rate: $24.00/hour.
