We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The Cath Lab RN plays a critical role in assisting with diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, providing direct patient care, and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after catheterization lab procedures.
- Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, and pacemaker implantation.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and administer medications as prescribed.
- Educate patients and their families on pre- and post-procedure care.
- Prepare and maintain a sterile environment, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
- Operate and manage specialized equipment, including hemodynamic monitoring systems.
- Respond to emergency situations such as arrhythmias or cardiac arrest, following ACLS protocols.
- Document patient assessments, procedures, and interventions accurately in medical records.
- Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Active RN license in the state of practice.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a cardiac cath lab
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and procedures.
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in high-stress situations and respond quickly to emergencies.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
- Hospital-based cardiac catheterization lab or outpatient cardiovascular facility.
- Requires standing for long periods and assisting with patient transfers.
- Exposure to radiation and bodily fluids (protective measures in place).
- Rotating shifts, on-call requirements, and potential for overtime.
Submission Requirements:
- Active IA or compact RN License
- 2 years of Cath Lab experience
- Travel experience required
- MUST be willing and able to take On call
- Must be willing to work 4x9's
