Job Summary:
ExpediteRN is a nurse owned agency and we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cath Lab Technician to join our cardiovascular team. The Cath Lab Tech will assist in diagnostic and interventional procedures, operating specialized equipment, monitoring patients, and ensuring optimal care during cardiac catheterizations and related procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist cardiologists and other medical professionals in catheterization procedures, angioplasties, and stent placements.
- Operate and maintain imaging and monitoring equipment, such as fluoroscopes and EKG machines.
- Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any abnormalities to the healthcare team.
- Administer contrast media and other necessary medications as directed.
- Maintain a sterile environment and follow strict infection control protocols.
- Document procedure details and patient progress in medical records.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Assist with post-procedure patient care and recovery monitoring.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or a related field.
- Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) preferred.
- State licensure (if required).
- Experience in a cardiac catheterization lab or similar setting preferred.
- Strong technical skills in operating diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
- Typically works in hospitals, catheterization labs, or cardiovascular clinics.
- May require standing for long periods and assisting with patient transfers.
- Exposure to radiation and bodily fluids (protective measures are in place).
Submission Requirements
- Hospital/Medical Center experience
- 1.5 years of Cath experience
- travel experience needed
- Call required
- ARRT, CCI-RCIS or RT/CVT certified required
