Facility Maintenance Technician

The Building Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operation of facility systems. This role requires strong technical expertise in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, along with the ability to perform preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and prioritize work orders daily.
• Perform preventative maintenance on facility systems and equipment.
• Respond to and complete reactive work orders efficiently.
• Assist or oversee contractors as needed.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Frequently walk up and down stairs throughout the day.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs as required.
• Safely climb ladders to perform maintenance tasks.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience:

• 10 years in facility maintenance, preferably in an industrial setting.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Trade School certification preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Outlook).
• Basic computer skills for logging work orders and reports.

Certifications/Licenses:

• EPA Section 608 Certification (required).
• EPA License for working with refrigerants (required).

Must-Have Skills:

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Extensive HVAC experience, including chillers and package units.
• Strong background in repair and maintenance (not just installation).
• Hands-on expertise in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems within an industrial environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Certifications for forklifts and aerial platform lifts.

Interview Process:

• First Round: Virtual interview via Microsoft Teams.
• Second Round: On-site interview, including a facility tour.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $32.00 - $33.78 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
