What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Specialist / Dispatcher position at Expedite Technology Solution?
A senior level position that ensures safe and efficient traffic movement and monitors roadways including detecting, confirming, updating, and responding to scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidents, congestion, and travel time imbalances.
The initial contract will be for 60 days, but is subject to extension upon good performance.
2 employee need for evening shift:
_ Evening Shift (2 employees): 2:30 pm - 12:00 am (Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday); 2:30 pm - 11:30 pm (Friday)_
* _ Weekend Shift (1 employees)_: 6:30 pm - 7:00 am (Saturday, Sunday, & Monday)
Tasks include:
- Senior level operator position performing functions with minimal supervision and to established procedures.
- To perform all duties and may defer the most complex issues to a supervisor.
- May serve as “shift team leader” to facilitate the smooth and balanced operation of the control room.
- May train new operators and provide guidance to more junior operators.
- To operate various computer-based traffic management systems to manage traffic and incidents on roadways and improve traffic conditions.
- To monitor roadways and detection systems.
Summary
As a Transportation Specialist / Dispatcher, you will be essential in coordinating logistics and ensuring efficient freight movement. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, your core skills in dispatching, communication, and analysis will be vital for managing transportation operations. You will leverage premium skills in transportation management systems and planning to optimize routes and schedules. Additionally, your relevant experience with Oracle Transportation Management and fleet management will enhance our shipping and receiving processes. Qualifications
- Strong logistics and dispatching skills
- Proficient in analysis and communication
- Experience with transportation management systems and GPS
- Familiarity with Oracle Transportation Management and AS400
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems

- Competence in data entry and fleet management
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $22.22 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
