Job Summary:
The Data Center M&E Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and corrective repairs in a data center environment. The role includes oversight of electrical and mechanical systems, equipment inspections, and vendor coordination. Candidates should have strong mechanical and electrical skills, as well as the ability to read schematics and blueprints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete initial training (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) for the first few weeks.
- Perform rounds, inspections, and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Manage work orders and documentation.
- Escort third-party vendors and oversee their work to ensure compliance with site standards.
- Conduct daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering (M&E) systems and technical equipment.
- Ensure all safety processes and PPE requirements are followed in compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety Policies.
- Oversee third-party vendors and ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and quality standards.
- Create and develop work processes, Job Hazard Analysis reports, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for critical tasks.
- Maintain and update CERM documents and logbooks.
- Complete all required training to ensure job responsibilities are met.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of a trade school program preferred.
- 4-5 years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Experience in emergency response/standby/call-out protocols preferred.
- Strong background in HVAC or Electrical systems preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Certified Electrician or HVAC Technician preferred.
Technical Skills & Software Proficiency:
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic knowledge of software applications used in a data center environment.
Required Skills:
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to train and share knowledge with fellow technicians.
- Multi-skilled in Electrical and HVAC systems.
Interview Process:
- Initial phone screen.
- On-site interview, including a site tour.

- This role follows company procedures and policies to meet set goals and deadlines.
- Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to coworkers and supervisors.
- No formal supervisory responsibilities; however, may provide informal technical guidance and training to coworkers.

Pay: $30.00 - $32.17 per hour
