Job Description
Operate CT Equipment : Perform CT scans following established protocols and physician orders, ensuring image quality and patient safety.
Patient Preparation : Explain procedures to patients, address concerns, and ensure they are comfortable during the scan.
Safety Protocols : Follow radiation safety guidelines to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self. Use protective shielding and adhere to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
Administer Contrast Agents : Prepare and administer contrast media when required, ensuring proper dosage and monitoring for any adverse reactions.
Image Review : Evaluate the quality of images to ensure clarity and accuracy, making adjustments as needed.
Equipment Maintenance : Inspect and calibrate CT equipment regularly, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
Documentation : Record patient information, scan details, and any abnormalities observed. Maintain accurate records for reporting and billing.
Collaboration : Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.
Emergency Response : Respond promptly to patient needs or emergencies during scans, providing support as needed.
Qualifications
Education : Associate's or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology or a related field.
Certification : Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and hold a specialization in CT (or willingness to obtain).
Licensing : State-specific licensing may be required, depending on the location.
Experience : Clinical experience in radiology or CT scanning is typically preferred.
Skills :
Strong technical skills to operate advanced imaging equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and medical teams.
Attention to detail to ensure accurate imaging and adherence to safety protocols.
Work Environment
Settings : Hospitals, imaging centers, outpatient clinics, or diagnostic laboratories.
Hours : May include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the facility's operating hours.
Physical Demands : Ability to lift or move patients, stand for long periods, and maneuver equipment.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS :
- 1 Year of Experience- Required
- NMTCB or ARCRT - Required
- Graduate from AMA approved Radiology School - Required
- ALL SCHEDULING REQUESTS MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION (Facility will NOT approve scheduling requests at / after time of offer / Please obtain this information prior to submittal / Requests after offer can be cause for rescinded offer)
