What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oilfield Dispatcher position at Expeditors & Production Services Co Inc?
DISPATCHER
Position will start initially as 14 and 7 but will eventually go to a 7 and 7 shift.
MUST HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN OILFIELD DISPATCHING.
PRIMARY PURPOSE & FUNCTION:
Maintain safe and effective control and coordination of all equipment, materials and personnel between shorebases and job location. Must maintain liaison between customer, shorebase and various vendors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise control and coordination of vessel loading and unloading, coupled with the movement of personnel.
- Maintain compliance of all HSEQ standards and regulations for base and yard personnel.
- Maintain proper completion and filing of all paperwork and legal documents as required.
- Must keep up to date information on all operations to share any logistics movement.
- Must be aware of drilling operations to forecast any movements.
- Must supervise all yard and base personnel to expedite material, transport, and cranes to ensure vessels and all transportation is turned around in a timely manner in accordance with customer?s requirements.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Communication skills, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of drilling equipment and drilling operation.
- Utilization of resources used in logistic operations.
- Minimum of one year involved with shorebase operations.
- Must have high level of safety awareness.
- Must have leadership skills.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Must have ability to plan and coordinate work effectively.
- Must be willing to work schedules according to job requirements.
- Must be a team worker and self motivated.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school degree or equivalent is preferred.
Additional training may be required in order to meet company or customer standards or expectations.
