What are the responsibilities and job description for the Configuration Engineer - Software Infrastructure IS Core position at Expeditors?
The Software Infrastructure team is responsible for the shared technologies our company uses to deliver internal and external systems. We are the custodians of the database standards for the organization and provide IS Portfolio teams with guidance assistance and standardized practices. We are looking for a Database Deployment Engineer to help us mature the deployment and delivery of shared database utilities and scripts. You will be assisting to implement industry standard pipelines and automation to an existing library of tools to aid with security. You will also have a key role in developing and implementing our database security standard. As a Database Deployment Engineer you need to be constantly on the lookout for opportunities to improve our infrastructure security in ways that support development team autonomy. You take pride in your excellent customer service. You work well in a team environment and know how to bring out the best in your colleagues. You will contribute by implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Align database build and deployment and other tooling to Companys IT general controls
- Collaborate and educate the Database Administration community on build and deployments methods
- Collaborate with subject matter experts in the organization to gather and share best practices
- Understand the compliance landscape and ensure repositories pipelines and tooling is up to standard
- Contribute to the furthering of the Core Portfolios goals for infrastructure as code
This position is onsite and will reside in the greater Seattle WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.
