As we continue to expand our market presence, we are seeking a Director, Capital Projects to oversee the strategic planning, leadership, and execution of all capital projects. This role is vital to ensuring the successful delivery of new construction, renovations, and major infrastructure upgrades, aligning with the company’s growth objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end planning, design, and execution of capital projects, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and organizational standards.Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk management plans, while implementing and monitoring key performance metrics.Establish and oversee capital budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and sustainability.Conduct on-site observations during construction to ensure compliance with plans and address arising issues promptly.Develop and implement a long-term capital projects strategy to support organizational growth and real estate development goals.Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and market assessments to guide project decisions.Collaborate with executive leadership to identify and prioritize capital investments.Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders (finance, legal, and operations) and external partners (investors, developers, municipalities, and community organizations).Collaborate with the Investments team to identify and secure funding opportunities.Ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning, permitting, and environmental requirements.Implement risk management strategies to address potential challenges and liabilities effectively.This position works on-site out of our Champaign, IL office. Regular travel to project sites is necessary to collaborate with on-site teams, vendors, and stakeholders.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).10 years of experience in capital project management, construction, or real estate development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Experience in managing cross-functional initiatives, teams, and large-scale projects.Strong leadership, organizational, and financial management skills.In-depth knowledge of construction practices, zoning, land use regulations, and risk management.Compensation & BenefitsStarting salary - $90,000-$120,000 annuallyComprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance.Paid time off and holidays.Paid day off for your birthday.401(k) with company match.Paid weekly.The starting salary range for this position reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of this posting.
