Position Description:
Jefferson Wells is supporting our client in the manufacturing industry on their search for an interim Plant Controller to ensure business continuity while they conduct a search for a permanent solution. There is potential for this role to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate. This position is located at our client’s Lawton, OK plant and responsible for the overall accounting, plant financials, budgets, forecasts, and internal controls.
Job Title: Interim Plant Controller
Location: onsite at plant in Lawton, OK
Pay Range: $45-65/hr
Engagement Length: approx. 6 months
What’s the Job?
- Oversee the monthly/quarterly financial reporting, forecasting, and special analyses for the plant. This includes all financial statement close procedures, account reconciliations, balance sheet analytics, SOX requirements, and establishing judgmental reserve balances. This also includes all FP&A forecasting/budgeting procedures to ensure forecast accuracy.
- Ensure processes are compliant with GAAP and Company Policy.
- Responsible for owning and understanding all workstreams and processes of end-to-end accounting. Identify differences in processes, assign workstream responsibilities, regularly communicate with plant leadership, and meet deadlines for standardizing identified procedures.
- Understand, summarize and communicate clearly the financial/operating results of the plants to measure progress against objectives and assess the effectiveness of decisions made.
- Identify actionable cost reduction and cash flow generation opportunities; analyze potential plant investments, restructuring, budget changes, etc.
What’s Needed?
- Undergraduate Degree with a concentration in a business-related field (i.e. accounting, finance, economics, etc.)
- Minimum 5 years of progressively more responsible experience in accounting / financial analysis preferably in a plant setting.
- Preferred Change management experience, focused on getting large groups "on board" with new processes and techniques.
