Job Purpose
Supply chain and logistics professional specialized in performing intermediate professional work procuring a variety of services, supplies, materials and equipment in direct support of our service department.
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare Purchase orders, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and services.
- Meet with vendors to maintain and grow our vendor base
- Negotiate best value for each dollar spent
- Work with engineering and vendors to ensure parts are being correctly specified
- Meet with vendors to determine possible alternatives for lower costs, terms of payment, quicker delivery while maintaining quality
- Participate in cost reduction activities, observe and report price increases
- Review supplies to ensure quality
- Analyze and resolve purchasing issues/discrepancies
- Ability to be assertive and persuasive without being aggressive
- Works with minimal supervision (ownership attitude) but also be part of a team
- Recognize and make use of favorable opportunities
- Ability to work with diverse groups and flexible to changing conditions
- Can work with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
- Troubleshooting/problem solving as required
- Maintain confidentiality
Qualifications
- Previous working experience as a Purchasing Agent for (5) years
- BS in Business Administration or similar relevant field
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and influencing skills
- Solid computer skills; Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook
- Dependable, self-motivated and results driven individual
- Task oriented with strong attention to detail
- Complex problem solving and demonstrated analytical reasoning abilities; solid math skills.
- Strong data entry skills with demonstrated accuracy and internet researching

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
