Our client is a rapidly growing, full-service mechanical contracting firm, specializing in high-tech mechanical systems including ultra-high-purity (UHP) process piping, HVAC systems, 24-hour service, and mechanical insulation. With a focus on innovation and excellence, we are looking for a skilled Project Manager with expertise in piping prefabrication and skid installation to join our dynamic team.
Role Summary:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead large-scale piping and mechanical projects from inception to completion. This includes managing existing contracts, coordinating material procurement, overseeing fabrication and shipping logistics, and ensuring seamless installation and startup. You will also develop new business opportunities, lead estimating and bidding processes, and provide leadership to junior project staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage existing skid manufacturing and installation projects in the Columbus, OH area.
- Coordinate with prefabrication subcontractors to ensure cost control and adherence to project timelines.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, identifying new bidding opportunities and managing ongoing projects.
- Oversee all aspects of project management including estimating, scheduling, budgeting, change order management, and cash flow.
- Ensure timely invoicing to maintain healthy cash flow for the company.
- Mentor and develop Project Engineers, preparing the next generation of project management leaders.
- Prepare competitive estimates and budgets for client submittals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience managing mechanical or piping projects, preferably with a Mechanical Contractor.
- Proven track record in managing large projects ($10M ).
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel overnight as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) design.
- Expertise in construction management and the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
