ExpertPays is a Nevada based company that assists law firms through expert and legal service work to include finding and vetting the best experts for litigation.

About the Position

The Controller position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for high-level accounting, financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and oversee the financial activities of the company.  The Controller provides strategic financial guidance while ensuring effective governance and compliance throughout the finance function.  In addition, this position will assist with the development of internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning as needed.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
• Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
• Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
• Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and correction actions.
• Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
• Establish (in coordination with the CEO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
• Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.
• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the company’s budget, forecast future financial performance, and analyze variances.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Strategic Analysis: Provide insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Tax Strategy: Manage and implement tax strategies to optimize tax obligations.
• Audit Coordination: Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field.
• At least five (5) years of related experience required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license required.
• Previous experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager
• Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; database, or other system knowledge.
• Excellent knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
• Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations.
• Attention to detail.
• Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members.

Location: Las Vegas, NV in office position

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000.  This position offers full-time benefits inclusive of medical/dental/vision insurance.
