What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Expert Staffing?
We’re looking for a Production Supervisor to oversee operations, ensure quality, and lead a dedicated team to success. This is a full time, temp to hire position.
Swing Shift: 11:30am - 8:00pm (during busy season the start time stays the same and the end hours go longer by 2 hours. Position also covers 2nd shift operations when short staffed)
Starting Rate: $25.00 (increase to $60,000-$65,000 upon hire)
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee all production and warehouse employees, ensuring effective operations and teamwork.
- Ensure all plant operations meet safety, environmental control, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Ensure work processes are documented and compliant with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Track and monitor production reliability, quality, and cost results, and communicate these results to associates and the management team.
- Implement work process improvements to enhance safety, product quality, and operational reliability.
- Lead the development of employee skills through training, qualifications, and maintaining records of the process.
- Complete necessary paperwork each shift to ensure accurate inventory and production reporting.
- Oversee equipment cleanout operations and the safe handling of hazardous waste during generation, storage, and shipment.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a culture that provides exceptional customer service.
- Ensure safe use of equipment and request maintenance as needed.
- Perform verification of production output according to established procedures.
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 3 years of manufacturing experience.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Skills:
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and regulatory compliance.
- Flexible Hours: Ability to work variable hours as needed.
- Employment Law: Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws
