Commercial Window Treatment Estimator

Expert Technical Solutions has an immediate opening for a Commercial Window Treatment Estimator with one of our leading clients - a leading provider of commercial window treatments, specializing in blinds, shades, draperies, and motorized solutions for office buildings, healthcare facilities, hospitality spaces, and other commercial environments. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Window Treatment Estimator to join our team and play a key role in preparing accurate project estimates and bids. We are a very small company (less than 5 people) so please only apply if you are ok working for a company of this size.

Job Summary

As a Commercial Window Treatment Estimator , you will be responsible for reviewing project specifications, analyzing blueprints, and preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial window treatment installations. This role requires strong attention to detail, experience with takeoff and proposal writing, and a solid understanding of materials, labor costs, and industry standards. You will work closely with sales teams, project managers, and vendors to ensure competitive and profitable bids.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and blueprints to determine scope and materials required.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and other relevant estimating tools.
• Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, and installation costs.
• Work with suppliers and vendors, including Mecho , Springs, Draper, Hunter Douglas, Insolroll , and Lutron , to obtain pricing and ensure competitive bids.
• Collaborate with sales and project management teams to develop pricing strategies.
• Write and submit professional proposals for bids and RFPs, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
• Identify potential project risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value-engineering alternatives.
• Assist in bid preparation, proposal writing, and submitting estimates within deadlines.
• Communicate with general contractors, architects, and clients to clarify project details as needed.
• Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and new window treatment solutions.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in estimating for commercial window treatments, construction, or a related industry .
• Strong knowledge of commercial window treatment products, materials, and installation processes.
• Experience writing proposals and responding to RFPs .
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents .
• Proficiency in Bluebeam and other estimating/takeoff software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience working with window treatment vendors, including Mecho , Springs, Draper, Hunter Douglas, Insolroll , and Lutron .
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with motorized and automated window treatments.
• Familiarity with industry-specific estimating software such as Bluebeam.
