Job Title: Employment Specialist

Hourly Rate: $22-$25/hour
Reports To: Manager of Employment Services
Job Summary
The Employment Specialist provides guidance, training, and mentorship to job seekers, helping them develop essential skills, build confidence, and achieve employment goals. Working with diverse clients, including those with disabilities, career changers, and individuals re-entering the workforce—you will offer personalized support to help clients find, secure, and retain meaningful employment. This role involves both remote and in-person meetings across various Colorado communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Career Counseling: Offer one-on-one job search assistance, including career goal setting, resume building, and LinkedIn profile creation.
- Workshops: Conduct sessions on interview skills, workplace communication, and professional etiquette.
- Employer Relations: Build partnerships with local employers to facilitate job placements and internships.
- Client Support: Assist individuals, including those with disabilities, in overcoming job market challenges, providing necessary accommodation.
- Job Retention: Offer ongoing post-placement support to help clients adjust to work, address challenges, and plan long-term career growth.
- Progress Tracking: Maintain detailed client records, track outcomes, and prepare reports on success rates.
- Client Advocacy: Advocate for clients by promoting inclusivity and accessibility with employers.
- Other tasks: You may be asked to do other tasks that are assigned that are not listed.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in career counseling, HR, social work, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Employment Support Professional) are a plus.
- Experience: Preferred 2 years in coaching, career counseling, or workforce development; experience with diverse client needs is an asset, or other related experience.
- Skills: Excellent communication, client rapport, knowledge of job search strategies, and knowledge in resume writing, interviewing, and career planning.
Working Conditions
- Travel: Required to job sites, community spaces, and job fairs.
- Hours: Flexible, including potential evenings or weekends to accommodate client needs, we are also flexible with our team if you need a flexible schedule for school.
