Job Description
What you will be doing :
Serve as legal adviser to the company and its affiliates globally.
Interpret laws and regulations; prepare legal opinions memoranda and other legal documents.
Render legal advice and counsel to executives officers management and other employees.
Manage outside counsel and oversee litigation processes.
Review negotiate and draft contracts including customer vendor and service agreements.
Advise on the legal implications of anticipated policy and operational decisions.
Ensure company compliance with employment laws and requirements.
Prepare applications to acquire and maintain insurance coverage.
Develop and draft corporate policies to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
Coordinate significant threatened or pending litigation claims and regulatory actions.
Maintain corporate books and records and prepare corporate minutes.
Stay current on significant litigation laws and regulations affecting the group companies.
Experience you will need :
Bachelors Degree required.
Juris Doctorate from an accredited Law School in the U.S.
State Bar Admission in the U.S.
Minimum 2 years of transportation / logistics experience.
Maritime Law experience preferred.
Selfstarter with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
Experience in a multicultural environment.
Strong interpersonal relationships and networking skills.
Commercial acumen and experience in business partnering.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in transactional and / or B2B organizations is a plus.
Proficiency in MS Office skills including Excel Word PowerPoint.
