Responsibilities:- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
- Provide direct instruction in academic, social, and life skills.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and behavior, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student learning and development.
- Utilize various teaching methods, including intensive individualized instruction, small-group work, and problem-solving assignments.
- Research, obtain, and provide instructional materials and resources.
- Serve as an informational resource for students, parents, district personnel, and community organizations.
- Implement advanced behavioral, emotional, and environmental supports to create a positive learning environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with emerging research, theory, legislation, policy, and practice in special education.
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with authorization in Moderate/Severe Disabilities.
- Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Bachelor degree in special education or similar. Master degree preferred..
- Ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies and behavioral interventions.
