Position Overview: The School District in Pittsburg, CA, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to identify students with communication disorders.
- Analyze assessment results and develop individualized treatment plans based on students' specific needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to gather relevant information for accurate diagnosis.
Intervention and Therapy:
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions to address speech and language disorders.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans that are tailored to each student's needs.
- Use evidence-based practices and a variety of intervention strategies to improve students' communication skills.
IEP Development and Implementation:
- Participate in the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.

Collaboration and Consultation:
- Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support students' communication needs in the classroom.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all assessments, treatment plans, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
- Prepare and present reports for IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding speech and language services.
Professional Development:
- Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility for licensure.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children, including those with special needs.
- Knowledge of IEP processes and special education laws.
