We are seeking a dedicated Hotel Engineer to help maintain and enhance the property during this exciting transition, ensuring the hotel’s systems and infrastructure align with its new vision.

Position Summary:We’re seeking a motivated and hands-on Hotel Engineer to join our team as we embark on the final stages of our renovation process. You will be an integral part of the team tasked with bringing our vision of an upscale resort to life. From maintaining pools and HVAC systems to overseeing various maintenance tasks across our expansive grounds, you’ll help ensure that every area meets the high standards expected of a top-tier destination.

In addition to your maintenance duties, you’ll work closely with our management team to address the ongoing needs of the property during renovations, helping us deliver an exceptional experience for our guests now and in the future.

As our Hotel Engineer, this role will provide you with the opportunity for career growth and professional development, using your leadership and project management abilities along with your maintenance skills.

You and our Maintenance Technicians will respond to requests from guests regarding in-room repairs, landscaping, and other general maintenance tasks. With your expertise, you will support management by responding to maintenance requests quickly and ensuring that each property complies with maintenance regulations.

That means it’ll be crucial for you to have maintenance experience, such as water heater experience, electrical experience, and pool knowledge. Previous hotel or vacation rental experience will be a big plus.

Typical days will include scheduling repairs and managing small projects, carpentry repairs, changing out lights/fixtures, in/wall shower valves, repairing or replacing HVAC systems, repairing pool pumps, refrigerators, and assembling furniture.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to guest requests for in-room repairs, maintenance, and other general upkeep needs with efficiency and professionalism.

• Oversee routine inspections, including monthly checks and arrival/departure inspections.

• Maintain the resort’s pools, HVAC systems, and other key infrastructure to ensure top performance.

• Handle repairs to structures, equipment, and fixtures, including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work.

• Perform landscaping and grounds maintenance as necessary.

• Manage larger maintenance projects, including selecting vendors and advising on equipment needs.

• Lead and train the maintenance team, ensuring compliance with safety and service standards.

• Create and execute preventative maintenance programs to keep operations running smoothly.

• Help manage the ongoing renovations and assist in ensuring the hotel reaches its intended upscale standard.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training is a plus.

• Proven maintenance experience, ideally in a hospitality setting.

• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and pool maintenance.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

• Comfortable using basic computer systems for scheduling and reporting.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to bend, stretch, reach, and lift up to 40-50 pounds regularly.

• Comfortable climbing stairs and working in various environmental conditions.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly rate: $20 - $25 per hour, based on experience.

Schedule:This is a full-time, on-site position with standard business hours. Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as needed to meet resort needs.
