Job Summary:
Exploring Graphics is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Pre-Press Operator to join our team in Las Vegas. The Pre-Press Operator is responsible for preparing files for print production, ensuring accuracy, color correctness, and adherence to project specifications.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of pre-press processes, printing technologies, and graphic design software.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and process digital files for various printing methods, including large-format printing, digital printing, and screen printing.
Review and preflight client-supplied files to ensure accuracy and compatibility with print specifications.
Adjust color, resolution, and layout to ensure high-quality output.
Perform imposition, trapping, and proofing of files before sending them to production.
Maintain accurate documentation of job specifications, revisions, and approvals.
Work closely with designers, production staff, and clients to resolve file issues and meet deadlines.
Operate RIP software and ensure proper calibration of color profiles and printers.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to file preparation, printing, and finishing.
Ensure compliance with company and industry quality standards.
Qualifications:
2 years of experience in a pre-press or print production role.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other graphic design software.
Experience with RIP software (such as Fiery, Onyx, or Caldera) is a plus.
Strong understanding of color management, print processes, and file preparation techniques.
Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot file-related issues.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of large-format and digital printing technologies is preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. when handling print materials.
Work is performed in a production environment with exposure to noise and chemicals related to printing.
Must be able to work flexible hours as needed to meet deadlines.
