Sales Manager - West Coast
Job Overview
The Sales Manager β West Coast is responsible for acquiring new business by soliciting event organizers for trade shows, conventions, and corporate meetings requiring a general service contractor.
This role also focuses on maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing clients, venues, industry partners, and Convention & Visitors Bureaus (CVBs) to ensure long-term success.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new business while maintaining and growing existing accounts.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities in Salesforce / Convention Suite.
- Manage all aspects of sales communication, including quoting, proposal development, and adherence to project timelines.
- Operate in a hybrid work environment, responsible for balancing remote work with in-office attendance for team collaboration, meetings, and training.
- Draft and negotiate sales contracts tailored to each account and opportunity.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients via email, phone, and video conferences.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and internal departments, including Account Management, Production, Design & Display, Exhibitor Services, and Accounting.
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, follow up on outstanding deposits, and balances pre- and post-event.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with venues, facility directors, and CVBs.
- Attend networking and industry events to expand business opportunities.
- Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and set up follow-ups and reminders.
- Utilize Microsoft Office, CRM software, and other industry tools for data processing and record-keeping.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing and coordinating projects, with on-site event experience preferred.
Working Conditions
Must be available to work some weekends, after-hours, and/or holiday's as necessary. Travel is required; candidates must have the ability to work remotely when needed.
