Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Installation Manager to support our Installation Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our installation teams. This role involves managing schedules, quality control, crew performance, customer service, and ensuring that all installations are completed on time, within budget, and to our company's high standards. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with strong problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and a commitment to fostering a positive team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Project Management:
- Assist the Installation Manager in scheduling installations and optimizing personnel deployment to maximize efficiency.
- Oversee daily installation operations to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
- Perform walk-throughs at job sites to monitor progress, address obstacles, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address client needs and resolve installation issues.
- Process installation paperwork promptly and accurately.
- Monitor the use of materials and labor, ensuring proper allocation and inventory tracking.
- Prepare reports on installation performance and key metrics for the Installation Manager.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Foster strong working relationships with installation crews, promoting a culture of feedback, coaching, and continuous improvement.
- Assist with training and developing installation staff to enhance skills and align with company standards.
- Support installers in overcoming challenges on job sites to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicate and enforce company policies, procedures, and culture within the installation team.
Customer Experience & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure a positive customer experience by addressing concerns promptly and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Regularly evaluate customer satisfaction with subcontractors' work and provide recommendations for future opportunities.
- Collaborate with installers to resolve technical or logistical issues on-site.
Administrative Support:
- Assist in processing payroll for subcontract installers weekly.
- Control the flow and distribution of materials and supplies for customer jobs, ensuring accurate return and accounting in company systems.
- Support the Installation Manager with staff training, safety initiatives, and operational excellence.
Qualifications: Required Skills:
- Strong leadership and supervisory abilities to effectively manage installation crews.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including customer service expertise.
- Technical knowledge of installation procedures and product specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.
- Effective problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Working knowledge of building and construction; experience in bathroom remodeling is a plus.
- Familiarity with permitting, licensing requirements, and home improvement codes.
- Previous experience coaching and mentoring team members.
