Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced toxicologist for a Senior Managing Scientist position in our Health Sciences Practice in Denver, CO. In this role, you will work as part of a team to provide a high level of leadership and collaboration on projects related to toxicological evaluations, risk assessment. and risk communication involving a wide range of products and chemicals, including for example, evaluation of mechanism of action, dose response, health hazard indices, detection and control points in a total product lifecycle, review of toxicology literature, comparative risk research, analyses using data science tools, and/or assistance with regulatory documents and analyses. You will lead projects, identify new clients, build on relationships with existing clients, and develop new business in related Health Sciences areas, particularly in the area of product lifecycle and emerging chemicals of concern.

You will be responsible for

• Using expertise in toxicology to solve diverse and often complex human health problems affecting a range of clients 
• Attracting and developing new projects and clients
• Maintaining strong relationships with existing clients
• Building and leading diverse teams
• Mentoring and developing technical staff
• Providing project management and project budget oversight
• Providing strategic consulting
• Promoting Exponent’s multidisciplinary consulting expertise and your professional reputation through activities such as publishing papers, presenting at conferences, conducting seminars, or serving on expert advisory committees

You will have the following skills and qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Toxicology, Epidemiology, Pharmacology, Biostatistics, or related scientific field
• Certification in toxicology
• 8 years of consulting experience with a proven track record of attracting new and repeat clients or funding
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding reputation among clients and the scientific community for integrity, responsiveness, and technical expertise
• Adept management abilities and demonstrated project management experience
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects
• Strong commitment to professional development

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Manager level and above total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.

The base salary range for this position is $171,600 - $208,000 depending on experience and capabilities, which will be assessed during the interview process.
