Job Summary
The Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive support and counseling to individuals facing substance use challenges. This position involves assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, and facilitating therapeutic interventions. The SUDP will work collaboratively with clients to promote recovery and enhance their overall well-being, utilizing a variety of counseling techniques and approaches tailored to individual circumstances.

Duties

  • Perform substance use disorder assessments, intake evaluations, individual and group counseling services to individuals enrolled in programs at Express and/or its affiliate.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients to identify substance use issues and co-occurring disorders.
  • Provide substance abuse screening, education and services to identified patients to promote improvement in medical and mental health.
  • Evaluate, and record patient progress with respect to treatment goals by documenting services rendered in person or by phone in patient electronic Health records (EHR)
  • Provide brief counseling or psychotherapy using evidence-based techniques such as motivational interviewing, relapse prevention or other relevant skills with an overall focus on a harm-reduction model of care.
  • Conduct regular caseload consultation with primary care team to communicate resulting treatment recommendations to the patient's PCP or other care team members.
  • Conduct group classes and/or visits to promote skill building, education, and improved health for the patient.
  • Facilitate patient engagement and follow-up in health care.
  • Assist in Quality Improvement projects: review utilization data, establish outcomes to measure quality of life improvements, and cost effectiveness of population-based programming.
  • Maintain good attendance, is punctual and works full scheduled shift is a condition of employment.
  • Demonstrate respectful, professional and appropriate behavior that supports a team-oriented work environment.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, staff and self.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs and goals.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and support groups for clients.
  • Utilize case management skills to coordinate care and resources for clients, including referrals to additional services as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance and as outlined by king county and Express Care

Experience
Candidates should possess relevant experience in the field of substance use disorder treatment or related areas. Preferred qualifications include:

  • Must hold a current and valid Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) license issued by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH).
  • Completion of an approved substance use disorder training program or equivalent education.
  • Demonstrated experience in substance use disorder treatment, including individual and group counseling, intake assessments, and treatment planning.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and Washington State's WAC codes related to substance use disorder treatment.
  • Ability to pass a Washington State Department of Health (DOH) and/or federal background check.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-centered approach to care.
  • Up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Commitment to maintaining continuing education requirements for SUDP licensure in Washington State
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to foster trusting relationships with clients.

This position requires a commitment to professional development and adherence to ethical standards within the field.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.83 - $32.30 per hour
