Electrical Engineer

San Augustine, TX | Full-Time | $65k/year depending on experience

General Summary: Provides methodologies and techniques in planning and design of the Cooperative’s electrical system; ensuring that power is provided in a safe, efficient and economical manner, and performing all engineering related functions as required.

Essential Job Functions

• Works with and provides technical knowledge to staking technicians and consumers.
• Provides technical knowledge and field oversight with system mapping
• Participates and assists System Engineer in substation and transmission line projects.
• Provides technical knowledge and field troubleshooting skills to metering technicians.
• Monitors system parameters and substation analysis reports.
• Performs necessary tasks as assigned by management.

• Knowledge of engineering practices and principles.
• Knowledge of outside plant technologies.
• Knowledge of personal computers and various software packages.
• Knowledge of SCADA.
• Skill in identifying problems, alternatives and solutions.

• Ability to effectively function as a team player.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited College or University with a Power emphasis. Previous training in design and maintenance of utility substation and power lines preferred.
