We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support our legal team in managing cases throughout the litigation process. The ideal candidate will have experience insurance defense, civil and/or commercial litigation, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including case management, discovery, trial preparation, and filing court documents.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery requests/responses.
- Conduct legal research and compile case law, statutes, and legal precedents.
- Manage and organize case files, including maintaining electronic databases and document management systems.
- Assist with deposition preparation, including summarizing transcripts and organizing exhibits.
- Coordinate and schedule witness interviews, depositions, and court appearances.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other parties regarding case matters.
- Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and other materials for hearings and court proceedings.
- Ensure compliance with court deadlines, filing procedures, and e-filing systems.
- Handle administrative tasks such as billing, calendaring, and document retrieval.
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field (or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program).
- 1 Years Experience as a litigation paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and e-filing systems (state and federal).
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and PACER.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software.
- Experience in specific areas of litigation (e.g., insurance defense).
- Familiarity with e-discovery tools and document review platforms.
- Certification from NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) or NFPA (National Federation of Paralegal Associations) is a plus.
