Purchasing Assistant

A company in Winston, for an experienced Purchasing Assistant in a warehouse. This Candidate will lead purchasing process for most purchase orders across the three warehouses located in West Georgia. The Purchasing assistant will work closely with the production team, project managers and supply base to ensure on time and correct delivery of material.

Responsibilities

• Manages Quotes: Request and evaluate quotes for all "detail" material - steel angles, steel plate, bolts, etc. Miscellaneous and Structural.
• Orders Material: Order material using Tekla EPM from shop drawings. Confirm PO's cover all required material and costs match quotes. Communicate with and manage suppliers to ensure orders/expectations are communicated effectively.
• Manages Hot Rush Orders: Order expedited, unexpected material and provide updates to management regarding excess costs through documentation. Identity best possible way to receive material in a timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner.
• Manages Deliveries: Work closely with production managers and shop employees to monitor rush orders, missing material, and other issues. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and escalate issues to management when necessary. Confirm material was received into Tekla EPM.
• Approve Invoices: Sign-off invoices using a 3-way match system: Purchase Order, Delivery Ticket / Tekla receipt, and Supplier Invoice.
  
  

Requirements

• 1-2 years of relevant work experience, preferably with purchasing, Supply Chain, or other relevant industry experience will be considered.
• Project based purchasing experience is a plus, but not required
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  
  

Schedule: 1st Shift

Pay: $19- $25 / Hour (Depending on experience)
