Quality Control Inspector Job Description
- Read and interpret specifications and part prints.
- Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies in accordance with Inspection Plans and Specification Requirements.
- File all Quality Assurance article/material history records.
- Perform first article inspections to support article qualification processes.
- Communicate requirements for various documentation to suppliers.
- Initiate Non-Conformance reports (Material Rejection Notices) as required.
- Document and report inspection findings and results and monitor corrective actions to those findings.
- Upload and review information on the computer in various databases and other internal programs.
- Conduct various tests and quality checks on finished articles. Ensure that all products have been tested and fall within standards, measured to specifications and within tolerances, readability of labels, etc.
- Conduct in-coming, in-process, and final inspections of AFP procured or manufactured products and processes.
- Prepare registered articles for presentation to Defense Logistics Agency designees.
- Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection issues. Communicate with project engineers to ensure articles and processes are in compliance with the final product.
