Express Employment in Temple Terrace is currently hiring candidates for the Screed Operator position for a local company in NE Tampa. The position is full-time and has long-term opportunities. We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for operating and adjusting the screed on the paver machine to ensure proper spreading and leveling of hot mix asphalt (HMA) during paving operations. The operator will work closely with the paving crew to ensure the smooth, even, and consistent application of asphalt, meeting project specifications and quality standards.

- Keep the screed adjusted properly and maintain mat quality.
- Sets up screed electronics in conjunction with Paver Operator.
- Monitor the quality of the finished surface, adjusting the screed to maintain proper leveling and compaction.
- Maintain the desired smoothness, compaction, and consistency of the asphalt surface.
- Conduct daily inspections of the screed and paver to ensure the equipment is functioning properly and safely.
- Perform minor maintenance and adjustments on the screed as needed
- Insure adherence to all federal, state, local safety and environmental rules.
- 2 years of experience as a screed operator required
- Prior experience in road construction or paving projects preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and operating machinery for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure quality control throughout the paving process.
- Recent and relative work history in the last 6 months.
- Ability to start immediately.
