Job Overview

We are seeking reliable and safety-conscious Traffic Controllers (Flaggers) to join our team in Poughkeepsie, NY. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic around construction sites, roadwork areas, and other restricted zones. Your primary responsibility will be to direct vehicles and pedestrians, ensuring the safety of workers, drivers, and the public.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct traffic and pedestrians safely around construction sites or other areas with restricted access.
• Use signs, hand signals, and other equipment to communicate effectively with drivers.
• Set up and remove traffic control devices, such as cones, barricades, and signs, as needed.
• Monitor traffic conditions and adjust traffic control plans to ensure optimal safety and flow.
• Communicate with other flaggers and site supervisors via radio or other communication devices.
• Follow all safety protocols and comply with local traffic laws and regulations.
• Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with drivers, pedestrians, and team members.
  
  

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to give clear, concise instructions.
• Attention to detail and quick decision-making in high-pressure situations.
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
• A positive attitude and commitment to safety.
• Previous experience as a flagger or in traffic control is a plus but not required (training may be provided).
