Quality Control Technician
Location: Birmingham, AL
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
A local pharmaceutical company is seeking experienced Quality Control Technicians to join its growing team! This role is ideal for individuals with a background in microbiology, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare who are detail-oriented and committed to maintaining the highest quality standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct routine quality control tests to ensure compliance with CGMP, ISO 13485, HACCP, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Collect microbial growth samples from production rooms.
- Incubate and analyze samples using microbiology equipment.
- Identify and document unique growths and prepare samples for third-party testing.
- Maintain accurate paperwork and records until test results are received.
- Inspect and approve product labels for accuracy (dosage, information, etc.).
- Operate label printing software and monitor label production.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and tracking of printed labels.
- Unbox and inspect materials, sign in received items, and complete necessary documentation.
- Follow strict cleanliness protocols, including proper gowning and hygiene procedures.
- Participate in internal audits and collaborate with the production team to address quality concerns.
Qualifications
- Experience in quality control, pharmaceuticals, compounding, or microbiology (education or work experience required).
- Knowledge of microbiology equipment (e.g., sample incubation).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow strict cleanroom protocols (similar to a healthcare or lab environment).
- Proficiency in quality management systems and vision inspection systems.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers) is a plus.
