The Maintenance Manager in a food manufacturing facility is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of production equipment, utilities, and infrastructure to ensure smooth operations and compliance with food safety regulations. This role involves leading a team of technicians, implementing preventive maintenance programs, minimizing downtime, and ensuring that all maintenance activities align with food industry standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintenance Planning & Execution :
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for food processing equipment.
- Ensure timely repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Supervision :
- Lead, train, and supervise maintenance technicians to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Assign tasks, monitor work progress, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Equipment & Facility Management :
- Oversee the maintenance of food processing machinery, refrigeration systems, boilers, conveyors, and packaging equipment.
- Monitor the condition of utilities such as water, steam, compressed air, and electrical systems to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Compliance & Food Safety :
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food industry regulations, including HACCP, GMP, FDA, and USDA standards.
- Implement sanitation and hygiene protocols to prevent contamination.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to maintain food safety standards.
