Position Summary
Machinist operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. Detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. Runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding production runs and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs all assigned machine shop operations.
Communicates with management regarding needs for department.
Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
Insures that all equipment is maintained in working order.
Correctly reads drawings and extended descriptions on work orders.
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of 6 months related Machine Operation experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in Machine Operation.
