Responsibilities
- As part of the Maintenance team, this position performs all necessary repairs and preventive maintenance as directed by the Chief Engineer/Engineering Supervisor to maintain a safe, attractive and efficiently operated hotel
- The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for performing other duties as assigned
- Perform basic repair and maintenance of facilities, guest rooms and public spaces
- Maintain building by performing basic repairs, carpentry, shoveling, clean-up work, snow and ice removal, plumbing, electrical, painting and any other related maintenance activities as needed
- Inspect and maintain machinery and equipment for conformance with operations and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work and storage areas
- Ensure security of any assigned keys
- Assist with Lost Prevention as needed to ensure the safety and security of guests and associates
- Assist with preventive maintenance and complete work orders in a timely manner
- Respond in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints and/ or requests to ensure outstanding guest satisfaction
- Assist in checking and making routine repairs and assist on major repairs on all hotel equipment
- Service the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; complete maintenance requests forms and record logs
- Maintain the building’s exterior and curb appeal
- Assist with setting up, tearing down and cleaning up banquet and meeting rooms as assigned
- Respond to all emergency situations and notify the appropriate authorities and managers
- Be able to use two-way radios, telephones, general office equipment and various types of maintenance equipment
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a safe and hazard-free work environment
- Ensure the security of inventory, such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture and televisions
- Replenish supplies in a timely and efficient manner, minimizing waste and ensuring that equipment is prepared and operational for the next shift
- Make regular rounds of the building to ensure proper operation of equipment, while also looking for any safety and security items and report them immediately
- Understand and practice all tasks and procedures in accordance with OSHA and company standards
- Assist in any other task or duties as requested by management
