Position Overview
Machine Operators are responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing equipment to meet production targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
Set up machines prior to production runs, ensuring proper calibration and configuration.
Monitor machine performance during operation, adjusting as necessary to maintain optimal efficiency and product quality.
Conduct regular inspections of machinery to identify and address any issues or potential malfunctions.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts, to ensure smooth operation and prevent breakdowns.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Document production activities, including machine settings, output quantities, and any deviations from standard procedures.
Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot problems and optimize production processes.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of production tasks.
Participate in training programs to enhance skills and stay updated on new technologies and industry best practices.
Requirements
Food Safety - Notify management of any Food Safety issue.
Food Safety - Conform to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
Food Safety - Aware of empowerment to act to resolve Food Safety Issues within the scope of work.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and production documents.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Commitment to safety practices and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements
Frequent sitting, walking, bending, and squatting (up to 13 hours).
Ability to sit and perform work on a computer or at a desk.
Able to continually bend, stoop, twist, use arms, wrists, and hands (including grasping and squeezing) throughout shift.
Able to occasionally kneel, reach above the shoulder, work at heights, and climb steps.
Use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Able to maneuver full drums of chemicals using a dolly / forklift for assistance.
