What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carrier Sales position at EXPRESS LOGISTICS, INC.?
Day in The Life
- Procurement, carrier sourcing, negotiate and track shipments.
- Establish and maintain carrier relationships to leverage the freight spend for the needs of our customers.
- Manage and prioritize tracking.
- Sell broker services via phone (minimum of 40 outbound calls).
- Negotiate carrier rates.
- Manage a healthy relationship between client, carrier, shipper, and receiver.
- Emergency contact person for after hours. (It is a rotation)
- The above responsibilities and additional duties may vary as assigned.
Education/Work Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 2-3 years logistics experience.
- Completion of postsecondary education is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Self-Starter and highly motivated.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Attentive to detail and deadlines.
- Can work independently or with a team.
- Organized in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong PC, phone skills and excellent customer service skills.
