Summary
The PRN Pharmacist oversees all aspects of the retail pharmacy (especially when the PIC and/or Staff Pharmacist is not present), with their main roll being pharmacy employee supervision, prescription processing and patient interaction/communication. Additional duties include, but not limited to – prepare pharmacy for business; inventory control; and data entry. They must work well in a fast-paced environment and have strong customer service skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains records of all transactions of the pharmacy necessary to ensure accurate control over, and accountability for, all drugs as required by applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations; ensures legal operation of the pharmacy, including meeting all inspection and other requirements of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing pharmacy operations.
- Maintains accurate records of all prescription transactions and submits appropriate claims for thirdparty reimbursement; consults with physicians and nurses regarding pharmaceutical questions; advises physicians on formulary medications and costeffective and innovative therapies; answers pharmaceutical questions from patients and staff; monitors storage, distribution, and use of pharmaceuticals.
- Provides training, assigns duties, and provides input for performance evaluations.
- Documents and reports medication errors to direct supervisor.
- Maintains close control over all operations at store level.
EXPERIENCE and/or REQUIREMENTS
- National Certification required
- Registered and Licensed with State Board of Pharmacy required
- Experience as a Pharmacist in a retail environment preferred
- PharmD or BS in Pharmacy
- Immunization Certification a plus
- Proven focus on patient care required
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Experience with Pioneer pharmacy software is a plus
