ExpressPoint has a full-time opportunity for a Logistics Manager in our East El Paso facility. This position manages and prioritizes the activities of the employees responsible for the functions of receiving, storing, issuing and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment and parts stored in the warehouse and other storage areas. Responsible to the unit and financial protection and control of physical assets owned by ExpressPoint and it’s customers. Participates in short-term and long-term planning for the department.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and maintains a budget for the department and is responsible to adhering to these financial objectives.
- Establishes department goals cascading from company objectives and measures to monitor success.
- Creates and maintains policies and procedures to meet operational, financial, and quality requirements.
- Develops, implements, and monitors inventory control systems to maintain and track status of incoming inventory, in-house inventory, and outbound inventory to support production requirements and to meet customer expectations.
- Establishes processes to ensure daily orders are shipped timely.
- Reviews, analyzes, and standardizes procedures to maximize efficiency.
- Maintains all processes and practices aligned to comply with OSHA, ISO and CTPAT.
- Provides continuous feedback to employees regarding job performance and prepares and conducts annual performance reviews in a timely manner.
- Provides leadership in coaching, mentoring, setting individual goals/objectives with direct reports.
- Interprets and enforces all company policies, programs, standards, and safety rules.
- Maintains a work environment that is safe and free from discrimination and harassment for all employees.
- Provides training on the care of items received, stored and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining and shipping stock.
- Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends actions to resolve discrepancies and prevent future occurrences.
- Willingness to be flexible, adaptable and to learn new methods and procedures as requested or required to meet company and customer needs
- Researches and purchases equipment needed to operation function up to pre-determined budget thresholds
- Key resource used in the research, development, implementation and training on all new system implementations and/or updates impacting area
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
- A minimum of a 2-4 year degree or equivalent from a college or technical school and 7 years of logistics experience OR a high school diploma/GED and 10 years of logistics experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
- 7-10 years logistics experience depending on education level
- 5 years supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Post-high school level math skills and ability to understand complex logistics systems to a detailed level
- Post-high school level reading and writing skills or demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures manuals, etc. and to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Proficient skills with computer systems and Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint or similar software programs to create, modify and generate reports, spreadsheets, graphs and charts.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer/supplier relations skills, demonstrated by ability to communicate clearly with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Superior problem solving and analytical skills demonstrated by ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Basic understanding of ADA, EEOC, sexual harassment and other related employment policies.
- Strong leadership skills demonstrated by ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize work and supervise employees within assigned department(s) and drive results.
